Officers of the Government Railway Police, Railway Protection Force, Central Railway and Income Tax were waiting for Rs 2crore concealed in two bags kept in cloak room of CST railway station for the last three days. But when they opened it on Monday, they found old garments in it.

Senior police inspector, Ashok Kumar Jadhav, of the CST railway police station said that the helpline received a call from unidentified man on May 3 about the bag.

On receiving the information, the railway police watched the cloak room to find out who who would collect the bags. It was difficult to say which bags contained the cash as there were more than 200 blue coloured bags in the cloak room. The room was under surveillance till Friday.  After hearing rumours about the bags containing cash, the Income Tax official also rushed to the spot and took the stock of the situation.

Later, an officer reportedly said that a passenger legally kept the bag in cloak room after showing the ticket to the attendant. “The two suitcases were opened and everyone was shocked to find garments in it,” said Jadhav and added that the proceeding were video graphed.
