MUMBAI: Shiv Sena's son-of-the-soil movement has moved to a new address: rebel leader Raj Thackeray's Shivaji Park house Krishnakunj.

More than 100 doctors and medical students from JJ Hospital met Raj on Sunday evening and complained against 40 medical students from Bihar for allegedly beating up Maharashtrian students and doctors and raising "Jai Bihar" slogans. Santosh Kale, the JJ hostel president, said they had a dispute over drinking water.

Raj assured them he would take up the matter with the dean of JJ Hospital. "I am not going to tolerate outsiders beating up our local boys. They have come to study in Mumbai and should say 'Jai Maharashtra' instead," he said. He added sardonically, "They better behave or else I know how to give an injection."

JJ dean Praveen Shingare has appointed a three-member committee to probe the matter.
