Raj Thackeray meets Maharastra energy minister over tariff rise

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray met energy minister Sunil Tatkare today , seeking relief for the consumers 'burdened' due to the power tariff hike by companies.

"As it is, the state is reeling under acute load shedding. To top that, power companies have declared hefty tariff hike," the MNS chief said.

After 2003, when BSES was taken over by Reliance Energy, there has been a hefty rise in tariff in the suburbs, Raj said.
