Railway minister says Ac Locals on track

Air-conditioned local trains and all other big-ticket projects promised for Mumbai are on the track, Union railway minister Dinesh Trivedi said on Friday.

Escalators for mass entry and exit were being procured for Mumbai, he added.

 “Air-conditioned trains for Mumbai will definitely be a reality. There are many of them planned and are in various stages of planning and shall see the light of the day soon,’’ Trivedi said.

He said other big-ticket projects like an elevated corridor between Churchgate and Virar stations and more 15-car services would soon become a reality. On escalators and bridges, the minister said the new Dadar station too will have as many as 25 many entry-exit points.
