A 44-year-old man was killed and his wife sustained severe injuries after the motorcycle on which they were travelling was hit by a speeding Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd bus.

A 44-year-old man was killed and his wife sustained severe injuries after the motorcycle on which they were travelling was hit by a speeding PMPML (Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd) bus on Monday afternoon at Dehu Road Phata on Pune-Mumbai highway.
The Dehu Road police have identified the deceased as Uttam Kisan Pawar and his wife Shobha, who was rushed to a private hospital in Nigdi.
According to the police, the Pawars, residents of Khed, were going to Dehu Road on their motorcycle, when a Nigdi-bound PMPML bus hit them.
The Dehu Road police have arrested the bus driver, Ashok Fargade, for negligence and rash driving.
