Pune polls: EVMs were tampered, allege candidates

Some candidates who lost  the recent PMC elections  have complained to the chief election commissioner that the electronic voting machines (EVMs) were tampered with.

The complainants include Sangita Tiwari, panel 21; Ayub Shaikh of Congress, panel 4; Nana Nanavare of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), panel 4; Sagar Malkar of Shiv Sena, panel 4; Rahul Dhole Patil of NCP, panel 21; and Sugandha Gaware from panel 23.

Tiwari said she was approached by a man who promised to tamper with EVMs and ensure her victory in return for money. “I  drove him away. He may have approached others and rigged the election,” she said.
