Pune Municipal Corporation gets more time for revised development plan

Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) city improvement committee (CIC) on Wednesday permitted extension to publication of the revised development plan (DP) of the city till the end of this year.

Municipal commissioner, Mahesh Zagade, had sent a
request for extension in November 2010, citing that the work of surveys for preparing revised DP is vast and requires more time.
CIC chairman, Virendra Kirad, told the media that the committee gave its approval to send a request letter to the state government to get extension till December 12, 2011.

The revision of DP, approved in 1987, is presently being undertaken and the intention of PMC to publish revised DP was published on December 13, 2007. As per the legal provision, it is necessary to publish the revised DP within two years of publication of intention.
