A 32-year-old woman was allegedly set ablaze by her husband on Sunday morning.
The incident came to light when the victim, Pragati Ravindra Dagade (32), a resident of Susgaon in Mulshi, lodged a complaint against her husband Ravindra.
Sub-inspector Santosh Shinde told DNA, “The couple had married 15 years ago and have two children. The suspect was working in a mill but three years ago, while working in the mill, he met with an accident and injured his leg. He lost his job and started drinking liquor. On Sunday around 9.30 am, both had a heated argument. The suspect started abusing and beating her. The victim poured kerosene over her and he took a match stick and burnt her. The victim has received 45% burn injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.’’
