Pune gears up for SSC results with an anxious lot

The SSC results of 16.41 lakh students in the state will be announced on Friday at 1 pm on the board's website. Parents and students alike, both wait in anticipation.

The excitement was palpable among parents and students in the city on the eve of the State Secondary Certificate (SSC) examinations on Thursday. The results of 16.41 lakh students in the state will be announced on Friday at 1 pm on the board’s website.

The result has been prepared on the basis of the ‘best-of-five’ policy. Marksheets will be distributed to students on June 27 at 3 pm by their respective schools. On the eve of the results, students and parents alike were nervous about the results.

Speaking to DNA, Juneet Jadhav, a student of Rewachand Bhojwani Academy in Pune Camp said, “With the uncertainty of date of the results, I have become a bit nervous. However, I am confident of doing well.” Another student, Aniket Dehwal from Jog English Medium High School in Kothrud said, “I am very excited I will get my results tomorrow. My father says he is not worried, but he cannot hide his concern.”

Gordon D’Souza,  a Wanavdi resident, whose son Joshua has appeared for the examinations, was  surprised that the results were being announced on Friday. He expects his son to do well. “I expect him to do above average,” D’souza said.

Students applying for revaluation will have to submit a written application with a photocopy of their original marksheet by July 7. Similarly, students wishing to appear for the SSC re-examination in September-October 2011 would have to submit their applications by July 7. Students can also view their results for free at any MS-CIT computer centre in the city.
