Pune employer held for molesting receptionist

A 19-year-old female was allegedly molested on her first day of first job by an employer at the work place on Monday afternoon.
The incident came to light when the victim lodged a case of molestation against Abhay Thakkur (32) of Rawat Building in Warje.

Warje Malwadi police station incharge and senior inspector Sunil Darekar told DNA, “The suspect owns a Thakkurji Construction Company in Atulnagar in Warje. The victim on Friday cleared her interview for an 8-hour receptionist job at a monthly salary of Rs5,000. On Monday at around 1.30pm, the victim was called by the suspect inside his cabin to give her dictation. But the suspect came near her chair and started talking and doing objectionable things that made the victim to run out of the office and approach the police station. However, the suspect had locked the office and fled. On Tuesday morning, we laid a trap near his house and arrested him.”

Man booked for duping youths with job promise
A 25-year-old man, working as a civilian staff in the army, has been booked on charges of duping 10 youths under the pretext to provide them job in Border Security Force (BSF) by taking a token amount of Rs1.50 lakh from each of them.

Fiyyas Nasir Mulla (25) of Santnagar in Lohegaon lodged a complaint against Arvind alias Apparao Lalurao Pagare (25) of Kadam Chawl in Lohegaon. The police are yet to arrest the suspect

Airport police station incharge and senior inspector Prakash Shah told DNA, “Mulla and the suspect knew each other for eight years as neighbours. Pagare had promised Mulla to provide a job in BSF and took Rs1.50 lakh from the victim in two years. He gave the victim a paper carrying BSF letterhead and a fake medical fitness certificate and asked him to remain present during the recruitment in Mumbai. However, the officers at the recruitment centre said that they were fakes. Later, Mulla found that nine other youths were also duped by the suspect. We appeal to citizens to visit a police station or contact 020-26633888 and report such incidents.”

Unidentified body found
The Kothrud police have found the unidentified body of a man near Laxminagar hilltop in Kothrud area on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the police, residents thought that the deceased was drunk and sleeping. However, a group of boys playing cricket informed their elders of an unpleasant smell emanating from the area near the body.

The police found stab injuries on the deceased’s left hand. Senior police inspector Chandrakant Ghodke told DNA, “There is a possibility that the deceased could have been murdered. We have not found any document from the deceased to know his identity.”
