Pune corporation covers dangerous manhole immediately after complaint

A dangerous manhole that was lying open with metal rods protruding was covered by the Ghole Road ward officer within five hours after the matter was taken up by this newspaper.

DNA on Tuesday spotted a dangerous manhole near Modern College in Shivajinagar and printed a photograph in its Wednesday issue, after which the ward officer, Vijay Lande, was contacted and questioned about the work status.

He saw the picture in DNA and said, “I will send my engineers right away to the spot and get the problem solved.” True to his words, the manhole was immediately covered to ensure safety of citizens.
