Pune cops indict Neelam Gorhe, Milind Narvekar for conspiracy

The Bund Garden police on Friday filed a chargesheet against Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray’s personal secretary, Milind Narvekar, and party spokesperson, Neelam Gorhe, for hatching a conspiracy to create law and order problem in Pune.

The 170-page chargesheet was filed in the court of judicial magistrate (first class), RL Wankhade.

Both stand charged with hatching a conspiracy to create law and order problem during the Pune bandh on December 28, following the removal of Dadoji Konddev’s statue from the historic Lal Mahal by the Pune Municipal Corporation.

The court had allowed the police to conduct voice sample tests of Gorhe and Narvekar. However, the duo, through their lawyer Shrikant Shivde, filed a petition to set aside the order before additional sessions judge, JS Shirsale.    

The sessions judge had directed the police to file their say on March 14 and asked for the records of the case from the magistrate’s court. On Monday, Shirsale deferred the hearing till March 30 and asked the prosecution to file its say.
