Reason: They have declared assets in excess of Rs5 crore. Interestingly, while three are from the ruling Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), the other two are from the Congress.
Sitting NCP corporator from Baner Balewadi, Baburao Chandare, leads the list of the “rich” candidates. His assets include 7.5 tolas of gold and assets in the name of his wife to the tune of Rs1 crore. Chandare’s two daughters have assets worth Rs5 crore.
Son of Congress MLA from Shivajinagar, Vinayak Nimhan, Chandrashekar (alias Sunny) Nimhan has declared assets worth Rs12 crore. Other than gold of 5.5 tolas, Nimhan has declared six cars, five dumpers and a two-wheeler amongst his assets. Nimhan is the official Congress candidate from Aundh ITI (panel 8).
Former mayor and NCP corporator, Rajlakshmi Bhosale, who would be contesting the elections from the Mohammedwadi Panel, also finds her name in the list. Her asset declaration includes eight four wheelers. Other than a Mercedez Benz, Bhosale had declared a BMW, a Range Rover and a Toyota Fortuna as her some of her vehicles.
The former mayor has also declared diamond jewellery worth Rs47 lakh, gold jewellery worth Rs28 lakh and silver jewellery worth Rs2.75 lakh.
Her land holdings are to the tune of Rs7.19 crore, while her husband has 10 tolas of gold and 2 kgs of silver jewellery. Congress corporator from Sankarrao More Vidyalaya in Kothrud, Deepak Mankar, has assets which includes cash savings of Rs1 crore and two four-wheelers. Mankar, who would be contesting from the MIT College panel (panel 26), also has land holding of Rs4 crore and jewellery worth Rs67 lakh.
NCP corporator from Vadgaon Budruk, Vikas Dangat, also features in the list with more than Rs8 crore of assets. His assets include shares worth Rs29 lakh and 32 tolas of gold.
