A PIL has been filed in the Bombay high court, seeking inquiry into alleged lapses of the bureaucrats and police who failed to avert blast in Pune on February 13. It is expected to come up for hearing this week.

Advocate VP Patil, the petitioner, has demanded that compensation which would be paid to the kin of victims should be recovered from those responsible for failing to avert the tragedy.

"I have recorded Union home minister P Chidambaram's statement on TV that intelligence regarding the threat was provided to the state. If government can protect 'My Name Is Khan', why it failed to protect citizens?" Patil told PTI.

The chief secretary of the state, director general of police, Pune police commissioner and additional chief secretary, home department, have been made respondents in the petition.

Patil had earlier filed PIL, along with others, seeking action against the (then) national security advisor for failing to avert terrorist attack on Mumbai on November 26.
