The Pune blast played a spoilsport and affected the celebration of Valentine's Day in the city today.

Unlike Ram Sene in Karnataka, no prominent organisation here had threatened protests against the celebration of lovers' day but the blast in Pune seemingly acted as a dampener.

The Shiv Sena used to protest violently against V-Day celebration till a few years ago, but it had not announced any protests this time around.

Still, relatively fewer couples were seen hanging out at theatres, restaurants, and favourite spots such as Marine Drive and Bandra Bandstand (where Shah Rukh Khan lives).

The city has seen heavy police presence at theatres due to Shiv Sena's protests against release of My Name Is Khan. Police were visible on the streets today as well given that the city has been put on high alert after the terror strike in Pune.
