Two lawyers representing the victims in the Nooriya Haveliwala case indicated that they would intervene in her bail application and oppose it. The next hearing is on February 16.
Haveliwala is accused of ramming into six people with her Honda CRV in a drunken state on January 30, killing two, including a policeman and a biker.
Advocate Ashwini Takalkar informed the court that she was appearing for one of the injured victims, constable Shailendra Jadhav.
“I went to visit him [Jadhav] in Bombay Hospital. He is still in the ICU and is in a bad shape. I asked him if he would want to oppose Haveliwala’s bail plea. He gave his consent,” said Takalkar, whose father is a traffic policeman.
