Opposition benches moved a privilege motion against chief secretary Ratnakar Gaikwad for his circular that asked his subordinates to not attend meetings held by leader of opposition and legislators. The opposition termed the government order as the act of suppression of the constitutional rights of the elected representatives.

Sudhir Mungantiwar of Bhartiya Janata Party moved the privilege motion and demanded that it be admitted by the speaker. Leader of opposition in the Assembly Eknath Khadse said that the government directives to bureaucrats were against the Constitution.

Legislators demanded an immediate admission of the motion. However, the speaker Dilip Walse Patil said that the officer against whom the motion was moved should be given an opportunity to present his stand. He said that he will give his ruling by Monday.
