Ramchandrarao Narsimharao Ghorpade, father-in-law of the Maharashtra chief minister, passed away at Miraj in Sangli district today due to old age.

Ramchandrarao Narsimharao Ghorpade, father-in-law of Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, passed away at Miraj in Sangli district today due to old age.
Ghorpade, 86, who was known as Bapusaheb is survived by a son and a daughter. Ghorpades were an influential family from Bedag in Miraj.
Chavan was in Pune when he learnt about his father-in-law's demise. He, and his wife Satvasheela reached Miraj on hearing the news, sources said.
