Spreading the red carpet for the Marwari community, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan invited the enterprising and industrious community across the country to come and establish their ventures in Maharashtra.
The Chief minister was speaking at the inaugural session of the three-day 10th national convention of the Marwari community hosted by the Akhil Bharatiya Marwari Yuva Manch in Nashik on Thursday, evening. The convention will be attended by thousands of community brethren and will host B2B (business to business) meet with all top players from business, trade and industry from all over India and other participating countries.
The convention includes a trade fair with 80 stalls from different sectors, a franchisee Expo and job fair.
The inaugural function was also graced by revenue minister Balasaheb Thorat, industries minister Narayan Rane, consulate general of China Nieu Kigbau, national president of Marwari Yuva Manch Jitendra Gupta, regional president Lalit Gandhi, MP Sameer Bhujbal, Dilip Gandhi and others.
Addressing the huge gathering, the chief minister said that Marwaris have made a great contribution in the field of business, trade and industries in the country, especially in Maharashtra. He assured help from the state government for setting business in Maharashtra.
Appreciating the role of many Marwari families who are settled in Maharashtra, and have become Maharashtrians, he said that their contribution in social sector like hospitals, charity trusts, along with trade and industry is noteworthy.
Industries minister Narayan Rane, applauded the Marwari Yuva Manch's goal to invest Rs5,000 crore in Maharashtra and said that government will provide all facilities for the purpose and expected that the investment could rise to Rs50,000 crores.
As part of the convention, a blood donation camp, artificial body parts to the disabled, cultural programmes, business meets and guidance talks were organized.
Two awards were also presented on the occasion by the Akhil Bharatiya Marwari Yuva Manch. Yuva Udyog Ratna Puraskar was conferred upon Sunil Karwa, managing director of Krishidhan Seeds Pvt. Ltd. While Swyatantradevi Jamnadevi Bajaj award was presented to Chanda Runwal for her contribution to social work. She donated the award amount of Rs5000 with additional Rs five lakh to the Yuva Manch itself.
