Pre-monsoon showers lashed the city on Thursday evening for over an hour bringing respite from sultry weather conditions. The city recorded 24.6 mm rainfall.

Although there were no reports of water logging from any part of the city, the heavy rains brought down 20 trees in various areas of the city.

Barring Lullanagar, there were no reports of traffic jams in any part of the city. However, the movement of vehicles were slow on the roads.

"In Lullanagar, after a tree fell on the road, the movement of traffic was disrupted for some time. Later, it was restored after the tree was removed,'' traffic police officials said.

Fire bridge officials said that it started receiving the calls from 3 pm.

"Two vehicles, a car and a two-wheeler, were damaged as trees fell on them. The car stationed under a tree was damaged in Bibvewadi area and the other incident took place at Mitanagar in Kondhwa,'' the officials added.

The fire brigade received a call from Kothrud in the night after a baby monkey entered a house after a tree was uprooted in that area. It was sitting on the tree and quickly entered the house as the tree fell.

Trees were uprooted in Mukundnagar, Raviwar Peth, Erandwane, Navi Peth and some other parts of the city.
