Poll office, college sites hacked in Mumbai

With the growing use of internet and broadband penetration, attacks launched through the internet have seen a steady rise recently. On Wednesday two websites were hacked and defaced.

One of the websites is, state government’s chief electoral officer’s office, www.ceo.maharashtra.gov.in, where in the form application page was defaced and posted a message saying, “Admin! you so stupied, you should to be an operator in a hotel not an administrator! #sEc-r1z crEw 2o1o.”

When contacted on the issue, chief electoral officer of Maharashtra Debashish Chakrabarty said, “We have no idea about any such attack. The form application page has been made to help people download electoral forms. We will check if any such attack has happened. “

In another attack by suspected Islamic fundamentalists website of NM College, Vile Parle, www.nmcollege.in, was hacked and its homepage was defaced with messages against the Indian and Israeli army which talked about Kashmir and Palestine issues.

The message said that website has been hacked by, ZHC Destiny-Z company Hacking Crew - (ZHC) further mentioned, “We are ZHC: Trick aka Saywhat?-Hawk- Don-XtreMist-Sniper-Hard hunter-TAZii-Zology-Mastermind-Assassin-Zolo-Milan Milo-TOPGUN-Destiny-cobra-eXplicit”.

It further said, “Free Kashmir and Palestine, Palestine+ Kashmir = One Struggle. // End the occupation..., Everyday 100s of hundreds of innocent people are abused, raped and even killed in palestine and kashmir by the Indian and israli army, a third of deaths are children, who are the real soldiers? the child holding a stone or the stranger holding a gun ?- we dont want war , take back ur men, ur tanks and ur guns and go back to were u came from, all we ask is for freedom, u can kill, but u cant kill us all, we shall not give up and giving up is not a option. Freedom is our goal.”

When contacted, principal of NM College Sunil Mantri, denied any such hacking. Joint commissioner of police, crime branch, Himanshu Roy said, “A case has been registered with the BKC Cyber police station. Investigations reveal that hacking had been done through a website called pagalguy.com. Further investigations are on.”
