The Nirmal Nagar police on Friday arrested two waiters from Madhya Pradesh for murdering their manager two months ago.
The accused were traced to their homes in Rewa because of a single call they had made a day before attacking their manager.
According to the police, the accused, Rizwan Pathan and Mohammed Khan, both worked at the Durgaprashad hotel in Bandra. On June 6, a day after hotel manager Suresh Bovi slapped Pathan because of some cleaning-related issue, the accused together attacked Bovi and cook Prakash Gupta with wooden planks and knives while they were sleeping. They were rushed to KEM hospital, where Bovi succumbed to his injuries a week later.
Gupta told the police about the incident and explained that the duo had just joined the hotel a fortnight before the incident. The duo was then traced to Rewa based on a call made just before the attack. They were then brought to Mumbai, where they confessed to their crime.
