Police force sees major reshuffle in senior posts in Mumbai

Several officers, including a husband-wife couple being posted for the first time together as deputy commissioners of police (DCP) in important zones in the city, were posted in key areas of Mumbai.

A day after Sanjeev Dayal took charge as Mumbai police commissioner, the state home department, on Tuesday, announced a major reshuffle of senior police officers from across the city. Sixty-six officers from the rank of deputy commissioner.

Several officers, including a husband-wife couple being posted for the first time together as deputy commissioners of police (DCP) in important zones in the city, were posted in key areas of Mumbai.

The transfers in and out of Mumbai are as follows: six zonal DCPs were transferred out of the city and new replacements were announced. Dr Chhering Dorje was posted as DCP Zone 1, with Vishwas Nangre Patil being transferred as superintendent of police (SP) Thane (rural), and Aswati Dorje posted as DCP Zone 5 even as Milind Bharambe was transferred as SP Nashik. Qaiser Khalid was posted as DCP Zone 2, while Sanjay Mohite was transferred to the Police Training School at Marol in Andheri.

Sharda Nikam was posted as DCP Zone 10, while Satyanarayan Chowdhury was posted as DCP Zone 11 to replace Sanjay Banerjee who was transferred to the State Reserve Police Force in Daund. Anil Kumbhare was posted as DCP Zone 12, while Ajit Patil was transferred to the state CID.

Deputy inspector general of police (provisions) Dilip Shrirao was transferred to the Food and Drug Administration. Ashok Deshbratar was transferred from Thane City to DCP Railways in Mumbai. RM Vhatkar DCP Zone VI was transferred as SP to Parbhani.

Vineet Agarwal has been posted as additional commissioner of police (central region) with Sadanand Date being officially transferred as the head of Force One.

Brijesh Singh was posted as additional commissioner of police (traffic), a new post in the Mumbai police's traffic department. Vivek Phansalkar was posted as joint commissioner of police (traffic) with Sanjay Barve being transferred as inspector general of police (Aurangabad Range).

Joint commissioner of police (administration) BD More was transferred as IG (Kolhapur Range), with Rashmi Shukla expected to replace him.
