A Jet flight coming from Delhi was made to do a go-around after a cargo plane took more time to move from the run way.
Two die in seperate railway incidents
A diamond merchant died of a massive heart attack on Vile Parle foot over bridge on Tuesday while a 22-year-old unidentified person died while crossing the railway tracks between Jogeshwari and Andheri.
The first incident took place at around 11.15 am. A resident of Vipul Shah, 50, was on his way to Opera House at Charni Road.
He used to board the local train at Vile Parle station as he was walking on the Vile Parle foot over bridge on his way to the station, he felt uneasiness and fell on the ground.
He was rushed to Cooper Hospital for treatment by the GRP personnel. However, he was declared dead on admission. T
he post mortem report stated that he died of a massive attack. The police found an identity card and informed his family members. Shah’s body was handed over to his family members after the post mortem, said Tukaram Shinde, senior police inspector of Andheri GRP station.
The second incident took place at around 11.50 pm. A 22-year-old unidentified youth was run over by the Virar bound fast local while he was crossing the tracks between Andheri and Jogeshwari stations.
He was declared dead before admission to Cooper Hospital. Efforts have been made to trace his relatives, added Shinde.
Building collapses claim lives
In two separate incidents of building collapse, one person died and three have been injured. In a Gowalia tank building collapse incident at around 10am, an 82-year-old lady died while another fifty-year-old lady suffered minor injuries. She was discharged after the treatment in a nearby hospital.
In another incident occurred around 1pm in Santa Curz (E), two persons were injured, and were admitted in Sion hospital for treatment and are stable now.
"In Gowalia tank incident, the portion of first and second floor of the building collapsed," said a civic official. "But, a small portion of the bathroom collapsed in Santa Cruz leading to minor injuries to two persons."
Plane made to go-around at Mumbai airport
A Jet flight coming from Delhi was made to do a go-around after a cargo plane took more time to move from the run way.
The officials say that the incident happened on Tuesday morning. The intial investigation does not reveal of any safety lapse in the incident.
The go-around orders were given after the Air traffic controller saw the cargo plane not moving from its place, after it missed its take-off.
