Paswan demands derecognition of MNS

LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan today demanded immediate derecognition of Maharashtra Navanirman Sena for assaulting Samjwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi in the Assembly when he was taking oath in Hindi.

"It (the assault) is highly condemnable ... We have urged the Centre and the Election Commission of India to immediately ban or derecognise MNS for indulging in anti-national activities," Paswan told reporters here.

The Centre and Maharashtra government must take immediate steps to book MNS Chief Raj Thackeray for treason, he demanded. Paswan demanded that the protem speaker should take immediate steps to expel the MNS legislators who assaulted the SP legislator for taking oath in Hindi defying the diktat of their party chief Raj Thackeray.
