The five Pakistani hostages kidnapped by Somalian pirates, expressed their gratitude at a press conference at the Press Club on Friday.

“We are thankful to them for their hospitality. They showed good care, gave us food and even let us watch TV. We watched the World Cup matches and celebrated the Indian team victory too,” said 25-year-old Aurangzeb Nabi Baksh Balloch.

The five hostages have been staying at the Yellow Gate police station due to the glitches in paperwork. “It was due to sheer accident that someone at the home ministry level referred to them as ‘prisoners’ instead of hostages. That got the process stuck. It was gracious of central minister Gurudas Kamat to take note of it and expedite the process,” said Mahesh Bhatt, chief patron of the Harmony Foundation, which lobbied for the early release of the prisoners.

When the media asked the hostages what they felt about Kasab, they replied saying he should have been shot. The hostages are likely to leave on Monday by Pakistan International Airlines. As a goodwill gesture Mahesh Bhatt is likely to show them a preview of his upcoming movie Murder 2 this Sunday.
