Mumbai: World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion Khali is out of uniform, after Punjab Police suspended him. He is now in Mumbai and said he would kill 26/11's lone-surviving terrorist Ajmal Kasab if he had his way.

The Punjab Police suspended Dalip Singh Rana alias Khali, an assistant sub-inspector in the armed unit, for remaining absent from work since last December while still receiving his salary.

The disciplinary action came after Khali applied for another five-year leave last month. Inspector general of police (IGP) GS Sahota not only turned down his request, but also suspended the world-class wrestler. Sahota said Rana "had already exhausted his medical and privilege leave and was missing from duty since December."

Khali had applied for 'extraordinary leave', something he was not entitled to. The first time he went on an ex-India leave, it was for six months in 2006. Thereafter, he has been seeking extensions. The department had already asked him to join duty or face disciplinary action.

The out-of-uniform celebrity wrestler was in Mumbai to announce Sunday's Mumbai Peace Run organised by over 50 NGOs ahead of the first anniversary of the 26/11 attack. He said Kasab should be hanged at the earliest for killing hundreds of innocent people. He said Kasab is responsible for the murder of his brothers and sisters in Mumbai. "Given a chance to handle him my own way, I would kill him or hang him on the spot," Khali said.
