No role for RR Patil in NCP’s US sojourn

NCP state president Madhukar Picchad, who was to lead the party delegation to America for the two-day convention, had to stay back as he was refused a visa. Union minister for civil aviation Praful Patel lent a helping hand and tried to discuss the matter with the concerned authorities, but it was too late.

Deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal, power minister Ajit Pawar, finance minister Sunil Tatkare, rural development minister Jayant Patil and food and civil supplies minister Anil Deshmukh are among those who have already left for the US. One name that hasn’t been slotted in the delegates’ list is now causing raised brows — RR Patil.

A senior minister said, “We are going to engage in serious issues related to organisation. There is no role for RR Patil as we don’t need policing or a Marathi orator to electrify the rural masses.” Wonder how RR will react to such uncharitable remarks?
