David Headley may be a key plotter of the 26/11 attacks, but people who came face to face with terror that night say there is little point in discussing his fate in India, because he will continue to be at large.

Bhisham Mansukhani, who was present at Taj on 26/11, said, “Ironically, a major breakthrough in the 26/11 attacks has been achieved by Americans, not Indians. The two biggest conspirators — Hafiz Saeed and David Headley — are out of our reach. One of them is in a country [Pakistan] we cannot expect anything form, the other is in a country [USA] that does not see us as a partner in the war on terror.”

Dr Prashant Mangeshikar, who was also present at Taj, said,
“What can one really do if they he [Headley] is not getting hanged? India cannot even say anything to the US. They will in fact ask us what we have managed to do with Kasab after so long. That person [Kasab] is still eating our food and we continue to spend large amount of money to keep him alive.”

Rotawan Natwarlal, father of 10-year-old Devika who was hit by a bullet fired by Kasab at CST, said, “I am very sad. We always feel that such people should be hanged immediately. We were present when Kasab was firing at CST. The bullet missed me, but hit my daughter. We advocate his [Kasab’s] hanging and are willing to go to the US to convince them to hang Headley.”

Mona Shah, who contested the 2009 Lok Sabha election, said: “The man is in another country. We cannot change anything, we cannot do anything. There is no point in discussing whether he should be hanged or not."
