As more sordid details of the Mira Road rape and incest case surface, the mother of the victims has said she had no clue what her husband was up to while she was at work. But she has reportedly confessed to allowing tantrik Hasmukh Rathod to rape her older daughter.
Though businessman Kishore Chauhan is alleged to have raped his older daughter for nine years, his wife Anjana, in her confessional statement to the police, has said she learnt of it only when she was arrested.
Police said Anjana has confessed to being involved with Rathod long before she married Chauhan. Rathod was known to her parents and frequently visited their house in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. She fell in love with him, but her parents got her married to Chauhan, whom they found to be polite and hardworking.
Anjana and Rathod, however, continued their affair even after her marriage. When Chauhan decided to shift to Mumbai, Anjana asked Rathod to relocate, too.
She has reportedly said that over the years Rathod’s feelings for her died down, but she remained attached to him. That, she has told police, was the reason she could not turn him down when he asked to sleep with her older daughter.
In her statement, Anjana said she used to take her daughter to Rathod’s house. When the girl resisted, she was made to submit through emotional threats.
When Chauhan got wind of this, Rathod told him he would become prosperous if he, too, had sex with his daughter. But Anjana said she was unaware of this because her husband used to rape the girl only after she had left for work.
