Though searches were carried out at 12 properties of former Mumbai Congress chief Kripashankar Singh and his relatives, investigators have not found any cash from these places.

According to investigators, Singh had taken adequate precautions after the ACB inquiry.

“In none of the properties, we were able to find any cash. This clearly indicates that Singh and his family members had taken a lot of precaution after the ACB inquiry into the alleged disproportionate assets case,” said an officer, requesting anonymity.

The police are also not divulging details of the articles seized from the properties, which were searched and attached by them. On Tuesday, a police team attached the property of Singh in Panvel, but they are yet to attach his Uttar Pradesh-based property due to the on-going elections. As per the Bombay high court order document, the Panvel property is in the name of Singh’s son Narendra Mohan. “Once the elections are over, we will attach the property there,” said an officer. The police have been asked by the Bombay HC to submit their investigation progress report by April 19. “We have seized a lot of documents and its scrutiny will take a lot of time. But we will try to complete our investigation before stipulated time,” the officer said.
