Riding on the success of newly launched S5 and X1 series, luxury car manufacturer BMW registered a 92% growth on its overall sales in India in the first five months of the year and is in an expansion mode. The company also has tier II and tier III cities on the radar as it is all set to ramp up its dealership from 24 to 40 by the end  of 2012.

Andreas Schaaf, president, BMW India, said the company has sold 200-300 cars per month of the S5 series and X1 is expected to be a key growth driver in India with sales expectation of 400 cars per month. Schaaf said of the 5,000 cars sold in Maharashtra in the last three years, 800 were sold in Pune. BMW India unveiled the new showroom of Bavaria Motors at the premium location on Wellesley Road in Pune Camp.

“With our partnership with Bavaria Motors, we will reach out to more customers in Maharashtra in the right manner and consistently provide them with the best products and services that are at par  with international BMW  standards,’’ he said.

Vishal Agarwal, managing director, Bavaria Motors  said, “BMW India has  established itself very  strongly in the Indian market and clearly, the same goes for Pune. We have been a BMW dealer partner since 2007 and this journey has been  tremendously exciting and  enriching for us.’’
