The event titled Technological Summit 2011: Commercial Technologies and Innovation will be held on April 28 at Le Meridian from 9 am to 5 pm.
National Agriculture and Food Analysis and Research Institute (NAFRI) and Apex Cluster Development Services Pvt Limited (ACDS) are organising a one-day summit for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) involved in food, fruits and vegetable processing. The event titled Technological Summit 2011: Commercial Technologies and Innovation will be held on April 28 at Le Meridian from 9 am to 5 pm.
NAFRI, a non-profit organisation which provides agricultural and R&D services to food exports and industry, is promoted by MCCIA and supported by Ministries of Food Processing Industries.
Director of Nafri, Vinay Oswal, said, “The technology status of units working in food processing industry in India is still not at a competitive stage. Most of the units are MSMEs with limited resources and access to modern technologies. The summit aims to showcase suitable and appropriate technologies for food processing sector.”
“The summit will be a platform for food industry to interact with experts,” said manager, ACDS, Minal Rajkarne. Experts from NCL, Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET) and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) among others will speak on various topics.
Narayan Hegde, trustee and principal adviser of BAIF Development Research Foundation, will be the chief guest. Research institutes and laboratories, technology providers, consultants and others can participate in a tech show which will be held during the summit. The event is open for scientists, industry experts, professionals, research institutes, corporates, delegates and entrepreneurs looking to invest in the food industry sector.
