Mumbai: The seller of cure-all drug, Body Revival, has another lie to his credit. The medicine, which Dr Munir Khan has been selling for the past six years at his clinic in Oshiwara, was invented by another ayurvedic doctor who allegedly cured Khan's paralysis.
Ayurvedic doctor Rehmatullah Pasla, 45, resident of Andheri (West) claimed he had used the same medicine to cure Khan eight years ago when he suffered a paralytic attack.
An officer of the Oshiwara police station said Khan had been allegedly selling the same drug, claiming it to be his own invention.
"When Pasla came to know about the medicine being sold by Khan through an advertisement on a TV channel, he filed a case against him in January 2009," inspector D Sankhe of the Oshiwara police station said. The police have now been ordered by an Andheri court to probe the case.
Dilip Suryavanshi, assistant commissioner of police, said: "In his complaint, Pasla said Khan used to work at his clinic as a compounder and got to know about the drug formula. Then he allegedly began selling the medicine of the same composition in the market in an adulterated form."
Sankhe said: "Pasla sells it at his clinic in Vaishali Nagar, Jogeshwari (West). We have filed another case against Munir Khan and have launched a manhunt."
Khan had started selling the medicine about six years ago from his Versova residence. He started his own clinic in January this year in Four Bungalows.
