Mumbai youth held for robbing I-T boss’ laptop, mobile

A youth has been arrested by the Azad Maidan police for allegedly stealing a laptop and two Blackberry phones from the office of a commissioner rank Income Tax (I-T) official.

Yogesh Babulal Jaiswal alias Lala alias Hari Om is a resident of Gulshan Apartments at Nalasopara.

The police said that one of the I-T commissioners Nareshkumar Balodia, a resident of I-T Colony at Peddar Road, had lodged a complaint stating that on Thursday evening, he found out that a laptop and two Blackberry cell phones were missing from his office at Old CGO building.

“We picked up Jaiswal on Saturday around 9.40pm from his residence in connection with the crime. After sustained interrogation, he admitted that he had visited Balodia’s office around 2.30pm for some work. He was waiting there and saw a laptop on the table. Taking advantage of the situation, he decamped with it and two cell phones kept inside a drawer,” said an official.
