Infrastructure development will be undertaken jointly by the state government with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO). Phase two of the Rs5,300-crore Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP) has got the required state’s allocation of Rs355crore that will continue the rail upgrade projects.

The budget has also allocated Rs350crore of the Rs1,488-crore project which include 11 roads, seven flyovers, three creek bridges and three rail overbridges in Thane and Raigad districts to be spent by the MMRDA in 2012-13.
