Even after heavy downpour over four days, in Mumbai as well as at the catchments of lakes in Thane, water supply to the city has fallen slightly.
The decrease, however, is marginal. “We discharge 3,000 million liters of water to the city every day. Due to this, the level might have gone down slightly, but the overall situation is good,” said an official from the hydraulic department of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The city gets water from six lakes situated in Thane, of which four have started overflowing.
