CM orders Mumbai, Thane schools closed

Mumbai: Schools and colleges in Mumbai and neighbouring Thane would remain closed today in view of reports that cyclone 'Phyan' would strike the coast today, Maharashtra chief minister Ashok chavan said here today.

Chavan made the announcement in the Legislative Assembly.

Meanwhile, chief secretary Johny Joseph reviewed the situation and preparedness to deal with the cyclone, at a meeting of the Disaster Management Cell here.
