Mayor Shraddha Jadhav will soon ride a new car — a Honda City. Municipal commissioner Swadhin Kshatriya will also get a new vehicle.
The BMC has decided to replace their official cars with an upgraded version.
Both Jadhav and Kshatriya currently have Honda City-V Tech. They will now be provided with Honda City-E MT — an upgraded version.
The municipal corporation has justified the purchase claiming that the existing vehicles now needed frequent repairs and maintenance.
The proposal submitted by the civic body for the purchase of the new cars states that the existing cars were purchased seven years ago. The one in Jadhav’s possession has run up to 1.85 lakh km, while Kshatriya’s has covered 1 lakh km.
The proposal is likely to be discussed at the standing committee meeting on Wednesday
