The city’s international school students have once again achieved high scores in the Cambridge exams.

Students of international schools who appeared for their Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge O Level and Cambridge International AS and A Level exams in the October-November session of 2011, have come out with flying colours.

Among the top performers in the A level exam is Utsav Banka who secured the highest position at Prabhavati Padamshi Soni International Junior College (PPSIJC), Juhu. His percentile marks were 97 in accounting, 95 in business studies, 97 in mathematics and 94 in economics. Banka, who has cleared the CPT (entrance exam for chartered accountancy) wants to pursue a career in the same field.

Another student from the same college, Siddhant Modi, has topped in the science stream of the exam. His percentile marks were 98 in math, 95 in chemistry and 93 in physics. Seven students have scored A stars in all core subjects in their exams.
Principal, Abha Pal said, “Every year, our students shine in these exams. An interesting trend is that students studying for these exams do not have to study separately while appearing for competitive exams like the CPT. The syllabus for the A Level exams is way beyond such topics. Around four students from the college have cleared their CPT without any extra effort.”

In the Cambridge IGCSE exams, Priyanka Lakhiani, a student of Podar International School, Santa Cruz, secured around 95% with an almost perfect score of 99 in Math. “Studying consistently at least one hour a day and paying attention in class was my success mantra for the exams. I want to pursue a career in medicine,’’ she said.
