The custody of Abu Jundal, the alleged 26/11 handler, will be given to the Mumbai police after the interrogation by Delhi police is over.
Public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said this at a function in Belapur on Thursday, putting to rest speculation doing the rounds that Jundal won’t be handed over to Mumbai police. The city police are likely to present a charge sheet before the Delhi court in this regard.

Jundal is being interrogated by Delhi police’s special cell.
A Delhi court had earlier refused to grant to Jundal’s custody to the Mumbai police.

The Mumbai police had applied for the custody of Jindal before Tees Hazari court in Delhi. The police in the application had stated that if Jundal is handed over to the Mumbai police, it will fast-track the investigations in the 26/11 case.

However, the Delhi court dismissed the application and said that since the investigation of the special cell of Delhi Police are on, it would not be appropriate for this court to cut short Jundal’s police custody and hand him over to the Mumbai police.
