More rainfall expected in Pune

The formation of a low pressure area (LPA) in the Bay of Bengal, north of Andhra Pradesh and south of Orissa, promises a revival of the monsoon over the next 2-3 days.

The formation of a low pressure area (LPA) in the Bay of Bengal, north of Andhra Pradesh and south of Orissa, promises a revival of the monsoon over the next 2-3 days.

According to India meteorological department’s (IMD) director for weather forecasting, Medha Khole, Pune would have cloudy skies for the next three days and can expect an increase in rainfall over the next couple of days.

Khole said that the LPA would result in fairly widespread rain over much of interior Maharashtra and isolated heavy to very heavy rain in parts of Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra.

She also said that Goa and the Konkan coast would receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next three days. According to Khole, the monsoon had covered all parts of India on July 9.
