Monkey attack for food kills woman in Nashik

Nashik: A 65-year-old woman was killed after she was attacked by monkeys who tried to snatch her bag for food at Saptashrungi temple here, police said today.

The incident occured yesterday when Ahilyabai Bodke, alongwith some family members, had gone to the temple when a group of monkeys attacked her and attempted to snatch her bag for food, they said.

The woman fell from the steps of the temple and sustained severe head injuries, killing her on the spot, police added.
