Mumbai: Ever since the Lok Sabha election results were announced, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has been celebrating their maiden performance, with every candidate having got atleast one lakh votes.
However, on Friday, the party got a jolt when Shweta Parulkar, Lok Sabha candidate and a close associate of MNS president Raj Thackeray, flagged revolt for her grievances not looked into.
She spoke directly to the media against Raj Thackeray. She said she felt let downwhen she found out thewomen's wing had been dismantled. "I am not happy with the way he (Raj Thackeray) removed me from the presidential post of the women's wing," Parulkar told reporters. "I have no objection to my removal but he should have conveyed the decision to me."
Just last week, Thackeray dissolved the women's wing and the trade union of the party following in-fights. There were complaints against Parulkar for being arrogant due to her proximity to Raj Thackeray. "She never went to office and would direct the party workers to different officials rather than addressing their problems herself. She didn't treat the workers properly," informed an MNS party official on request of anonymity.
Parulkar, on her part, claims she tried to explain her point to Thackeray who did not pay heed to her. "I tried to express my grievances to him (Thackeray) but he was in no mood to listen," Parulkar complained.
Parulkar has been close to Thackeray for the last 20 years. She was the party's candidate in the recent Lok Sabha elections from the South-Central Mumbai constituency and secured 1.8 lakh votes. She reportedly visited Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray when he was admitted in Lilavati Hospital recently.
Earlier too, close lieutenants of Thackeray, Raja Chougule, Digambar
Kandarkar and Ganesh Satpute have left the party. However, the MNS party spokesperson, Nitin Sardesai, refuted rumours that Parulkar would leave MNS. "She will continue to be with theparty," Sardesai told DNA.
