The founder of the Karve Road-based school and his wife died on the spot when their car turned turtle on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway following an accident on Saturday afternoon.

The founder of the Karve Road-based Millennium National School, Dr Sudhir Pathak, 56, and his wife Vaidehi, 52, died on the spot when their Innova car (MH 12 CY 9149) turned turtle on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway following an accident on Saturday afternoon.
According to the highway police, the road was slippery due to the rain and when the car came near Devle around 5.30 pm, the driver lost control and hit the railings following which the four-wheeler turned turtle and fell into a trench. Local residents and highway police officials rushed the victims to a hospital where the Pathaks were declared dead.
The car driver Vikrant Namdev Rethe (35) and a fourth occupant, Nikhil Karkare (40) of Karvenagar, have been admitted to the Lokmanya Hospital in Nigdi. The Lonavla Rural Police confirmed Pathak’s Millennium School association after they located his business cards in his pocket.
