In order to tide over the water crisis situation in the city, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) will carry out repair work due to which water supply to residents of suburban Kandivali and Malad will be affected.

According to the civic hydraulic department, residents of eastern suburban Kandivali and Malad (East) will not get water for nearly ten hours as MCGM will be joining a new pipeline to the existing one and undertaking repair work at Kandivli (East).

"Residents of Malad and Kandivli East will not get water for eight hours, from 10 am to 8 pm. The work of joining pipelines would take at least 10 hours. We have asked residents to use water judiciously and stock water on the day prior to the cut," a civic official said.

Currently, 15% and 30% water cut has been imposed on residential and commercial users respectively across the city.
