Matunga oil spill claims biker’s life

A 21-year-old motorist was crushed under a dumper truck after he reportedly skid due to oil spillage on TH Kataria Road in Matunga on Tuesday.

The Shahu Nagar police have registered a case of negligence against dumper truck driver.

“At 6.30pm, Asif Mukadam was riding his bike to his Muslim Nagar residence in Dharavi from Kasara Road, when the two-wheeler skid near the Railway Colony, Matunga (East), and the dumper truck crushed him,” said a senior police official.

Mukadam was rushed to Sion hospital, but was announced dead on arrival.

Following the accident, fire officials washed the road to avert other incidents.
