Mumbai: Additional commissioner of police Ashok Kamte's widow Vinita is willing to hear out Rakesh Maria. "I was forced to come out in public through my book about loopholes in the coordination and functioning of top officers on the night of 26/11," Vinita said over the telephone from Pune.

"Maria never thought that I will go to the press because I was not as strong as him. For the past one year, I have been trying to clarify my doubts about the sequence of events," she said. "But he was unwilling to talk."

Kamte said she stood by whatever she had written in her book. "I have been told that all the transcriptions are original and I stand by it," she said.

"But even now I am ready to look at things with an open mind and hear him out."
