Man kills pal, chops his genitals over sis affair

A 38-year-old man slashed the throat of his friend and later chopped off his genitals after suspecting the latter of being in an illicit relationship with his 15-year-old sister for the past two months.

“In the incident that took place in the wee hours of Wednesday, Kannan Muthuswami Pillai of Kamraj Nagar at Ghatkopar (East) surrendered after killing his close friend Govindan, 35,” said senior inspector Suresh Nirmal of Pant Nagar police.

Pillai, who stays along with his mother and younger sister, reportedly told the police that Govidan had been living with them at their Kamraj Nagar home for the past five years. The two men supplied worms to fish aquarium shops in the city.

Trouble started when Pillai learnt that Govidan was in an illicit relationship with his younger sister for the past two months. In fact, Pillai claimed to have seen the two in a compromising position only two days ago. “And in a fit of anger, he decided to eliminate Govindan,” said Nirmal.

On Tuesday night, Pillai invited Govidan for a drink. The two sat in an autorickshaw parked at Kamraj Nagar and drank till 2.30am on Wednesday. Later, Pillai whipped out a knife and assaulted Govidan, first slitting his throat and later chopping off his genitals. Seeing Govidan collapse in a pool of blood,  Pillai went home, where he slept till 4.30am.

Taking along the blood-stained knife, he went to the Kamraj Nagar police station and narrated the incident to the on-duty men. The police rushed to the spot and took Govindan to Rajawadi hospital, where he was declared dead before admission.
