On Monday, a Turkish Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Mumbai airport shortly after take off as a passenger on board was unwell. However, by the time the flight landed, the passenger had died on board.
On November 9, a Turkish Airline's flight, TK 1075 Mumbai-Istanbul, took off from Mumbai airport at 7.08 am."At around 8 am, a passenger, Rajendra Singh Dhillon, 37, complained of chest pain to the crew," said an official from Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL). The captain then decided to return to the airport and requested permission from the Mumbai air traffic control (ATC).
The plane landed at 9.08 am, but by the time airport doctors reached the aircraft, the passenger was dead."When MIAL doctors went on board the aircraft, the passenger was unconscious. His blood pressure was not recordable, he had no pulse, no heart sound, his pupils were fixated and were not reacting to light. The doctors gave him adrenaline injections, CPR and oxygen, but he did not respond," the spokesperson said.
"It appears to be a heart attack, and we have sent the body for post-mortem to Cooper hospital. The reports are awaited," said Dilip Patil, senior police inspector at Sahar airport police station.Dhillon was a businessman from Marol, Andheri (E) and was en-route to Russia via Istanbul. The flight later took off for Istanbul at 11.10 am.
